Drawn in desperation

After the summit
everything falls,
leaves this world in spirals of flame.
And we can see it now
when ice caps melt,
and fish swim in plastic.
When the trees cry out
and the waters desert us.
When flames are dirty
and air is worse.
It’s a simple Mannaz,
drawn in desperation,
that in times of peril
we fleshy bodies must cooperate.
There’s a divine presence,
pulsating light and love,
who wants the highest good.
There is a love so immense,
so omnipresent,
that it pulls us together
in hope.
We’ll grow our own food
and ride a bike.
We’ll smile more.
We’ll have to.
